Will it be re-write or addendum to current version?

Our goal is to publish SAFe Distilled 5.0 in the second quarter, ideally in May.
Since this is a major revision to the Framework, it’s a rewrite and it is a different book. While SAFe Distilled 4.5 was organized by configuration, SAFe Distilled 5.0 will be organized by competency.
We will publish updates to the 5.0 version of Distilled at no charge until there is another major Framework change. That is typically when we make significant changes to the Big Picture.

Will there be an update to SAFe Distilled and / or SAFe Reference Guide for 5.0? This is important since it’s a very large change between 4.6 & 5.0.
