What’s new at the upcoming SAFe Summit? Almost everything.
In just a couple of months we’ll be gathering in Washington, DC for the 3rd annual Global SAFe Summit. Feedback from last year’s Summit in San Antonio was overwhelmingly positive, and there were many of you who asked us to broaden our horizons to include an even greater diversity of topics and speakers. We got the message and immediately set to work designing this year’s event with that in mind.
Biggest & most diverse program yet
2018 marks our biggest program to date with over 42 technical sessions across seven tracks. For those of you who asked for “more,” you’ll be glad to know that the majority of the agenda features brand new topics, and of the 55+ speakers, over 30 of them are new to the Summit stage, most from beyond the borders of Scaled Agile. Scroll down for a list of all the new tracks and sessions.
I encourage you to check out the Summit agenda to get the full menu, but I want to give you a sampling of some of the highlights here. What makes this year’s event unique isn’t just about the volume of new content, it’s the quality of the thought leaders delivering the sessions, and the relevancy of the topics. Not surprisingly —because we’re in DC—there’s a robust government track that gives an inside view and learnings from deployments at EPA, IRS, DHS, and several other of your favorite government acronyms. Scott Prugh will be talking about SAFe and ITIL, while Suzette Johnson from Northrup and Robin Yeman from Lockheed will discuss applying DevOps and Continuous Delivery to significant cyber-physical systems. And as part of the new Lean Agile Leadership and HR track, Mark Richards and Lori Priller will present the HR Playbook for a successful SAFe Implementation.
2018 Global SAFe Summit keynotes
As I have often said, SAFe stands on the shoulders of many who came before us as well as those who continue to pioneer new ideas that fuel and inform the evolution of the Framework. It’s particularly inspiring when those visionaries come to the Summit and share their experiences and insights into our world. This year, we’re delighted to welcome three of those visionaries to the Summit stage:
Geoffrey Moore, author of the Crossing the Chasm, and Zone to Win, has been described as “ … the master at creating a vocabulary for management strategy that captures the competitive dynamics of the times,” by Cisco’s CEO John Chambers. I couldn’t agree more.
Ash Maurya, author of two bestselling books, Running Lean and Scaling Lean, and creator of the popular one-page business modeling tool Lean Canvas. Ash has developed a systematic methodology for raising the odds of success built upon Lean Startup, Customer Development, and Bootstrapping techniques.
Scott Prugh, Chief Architect and VP Software Development and Operation at CSG International. Scott has emerged as a guiding voice in the DevOps space, sharing successful techniques for influencing behavior, incenting learning and knowledge sharing, and changing the cultural norms of established IT enterprises and practices.
This year’s agenda spans the gamut of skill level and application. Whether you’re just learning about SAFe, are looking to develop your skills for a specific role, or want to explore SAFe through the lens of a particular discipline or application, there are multiple opportunities to meet your unique challenges and opportunities.
You can still get earlybird pricing until midnight tomorrow (EST), July 31, so be sure to get those savings while they are still available.
Hope to see you in DC!
