SAFe Updates

Hi folks,

As if last month wasn’t exciting enough with the launch of the SAFe® 4.6, we are very pleased to announce that the entire SAFe curriculum is now updated to the latest version of the Framework. Plus, we’ve added two new courses.

SAFe 4.6 courses help organizations master the Five Core Competencies of the Lean Enterprise

The unifying theme throughout Scaled Agile’s role-based curriculum is the Five Core Competencies of the Lean Enterprise, a SAFe 4.6 initiative that provides the competencies needed to achieve the Lean Enterprise objective of  the ‘shortest sustainable lead time, with best quality and value.‘ The competencies are:

We’ve observed that learning and adopting SAFe practices through the lens of these core competencies is the key to achieving the business and individual benefits that SAFe has to offer.

Two brand new SAFe courses and certifications!

Our two newest courses help accelerate that journey. The first, SAFe® Agile Software Engineering, dives into the foundational practices and principles of Agile software engineering to accelerate high-quality software delivery. Team and Technical Agility are the yin and the yang of Agile mastery, and this course puts quality software out front—which, as we hopefully all recall—was the purpose of Agile development to begin with. The second course. SAFe® for Government is designed to help bring the benefits of Agile development to the public sector.

SAFe® Agile Software Engineering
Enabling technical agility for the Lean enterprise

This three-day, workshop-oriented course arms you with the skills and technical practices of Agile software engineering—BDD, TDD,  SOLID design and coding practices, Agile Modeling, flow, test-first, test automation, and more—that help you deliver software-centric solutions faster, more predictably, and with higher quality. Once you’ve completed the course and passed the exam, you’ll be a Certified SAFe® Agile Software Engineer (ASE). Learn more.

SAFe® for Government
Applying Lean-Agile practices in the public sector with SAFe

This two-day course teaches agency employees and contractors how to apply SAFe within a government context. You’ll gain a solid understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset, principles and practices, and learn how new leadership behaviors can drive the change to a more efficient and cost effective Lean-Agile way of working. You’ll have the opportunity become a Certified SAFe® Government Practitioner (SGP) by passing the exam. Learn more.

A huge thanks to all the teams at Scaled Agile for their contributions to this effort—it really does take a village to update an entire curriculum. And, it must be said, we couldn’t have done it without the help of those in the SAFe community who contributed directly to the development of these courses, especially those who participated and contributed in the extended Alpha and Beta testing process. We’d like to extend our gratitude to everyone who challenged us to improve, their generosity of ideas, and for inspiring us to deliver the best SAFe courses possible.

Stay SAFe!
