New Advanced Topic Article: Enabling Business Agility with the Cloud and SAFe
The quest for business agility is a nuanced and personal journey for any organization. No two digital transformations are exactly alike. That’s why we at Scaled Agile put such emphasis on the cultural aspects of agility. Mindsets, values, principles, leadership, roles, empowerment, collaboration, ‘teamness’ … these cultural aspects of digital transformation align thinking throughout an organization and provide an environment in which agile ways of working can thrive.
Still, competing in the digital age isn’t possible without hefty doses of advanced technology, and we love talking about that too!
Recently, we extended the SAFe knowledge base with advanced topic articles on artificial intelligence and big data, based on the tremendous business opportunities each of these areas offers the modern enterprise. Today, I am proud to announce the third article in the series, which highlights the transformative potential of cloud computing.
The article describes the cloud’s role as a key enabler of speed and agility throughout the enterprise, far beyond the traditional data center modernization use case. The cloud transforms infrastructure and operations, allowing full-stack computing environments to be provisioned, scaled, and maintained on demand. It transforms feature delivery by enabling DevOps practices and automating the continuous delivery pipeline. It transforms product development by powering machine learning pipelines that produce AI-based solutions.
The cloud may already be considered table stakes in IT, but savvy enterprises can extend the cloud’s role to enable disruptive innovation in all areas of the business. Naturally, it begins with aligning cloud capabilities with key value streams and linking technology strategy with business strategy.
